Frequently asked questions
Getting started
Who is RopeDocs for?
RopeDocs is designed for rope access companies and any organization that performs work at height. While it was built with rope access in mind, any company that needs digital safety documentation or field reporting can use RopeDocs.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new account includes a 7 day free trial so you can explore RopeDocs before subscribing.

Pricing and billing
How much does RopeDocs cost?
A company subscription is $29.99 a month or $349.99 a year. Each Field User is $7.99 a month or $89.99 a year. All prices are in CAD. Work out your total on the pricing page.
Does every tech on the crew need a login?
No. Only the company administrator and any Field Users you add have logins. The administrator’s login works in the mobile app as well as the web portal, so a small company may not need a Field User at all. Add one when somebody else needs to complete forms on their own phone. Everyone else is an Employee: a record in your account who can be added to a form, hold certifications and sign, with no login and nothing extra to pay.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription according to your plan's terms.
Where can I manage my subscription?
Subscription details, billing information, and payment methods can be managed through the RopeDocs Web Portal under Subscriptions.
What currency am I billed in?
All prices are listed and billed in Canadian dollars (CAD). Your card provider may convert the charge to your local currency based on their current exchange rate and applicable fees.
Using RopeDocs
Can I use RopeDocs on a computer?
Yes. Administrators can manage their company through the web portal, while field users can complete forms using the mobile app.
How do I edit my company information?
Company information can be updated through the RopeDocs Web Portal. Sign in to your company account, navigate to Company Settings, make the required changes, and save your updates. https://company.ropedocs.com/login
What happens if I lose service while working?
Your work is saved on your device. Once you're back online, your data and PDFs can be synchronized.
Does RopeDocs work offline?
Yes. Forms are completed and signed offline, on the phone, with no signal — in a parkade, a stairwell or partway up a tower. The work is held on the device and syncs to your company account once there is a connection again.
How do I add a Field User?
Field Users must be added through the RopeDocs Web Portal. Sign in to your company account, navigate to Field Users, select Add Field User, enter the required information, assign permissions, and send the invitation. Once the invitation is accepted, the user can sign in to the RopeDocs mobile app and begin completing forms.
What's the difference between an Employee and a Field User?
An Employee stores worker information, certifications, and training records. A Field User is someone who logs into the app to complete forms.
What is the difference between a JHA and an FLHA?
When each one is written. A Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) is prepared ahead of time, while the job is being planned: the task broken into steps, with the hazards and controls for each. A Field Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA) is completed on site before work starts and records the conditions and hazards in front of the crew that day. Both are used in Canada and the United States, though JHA is the more commonly recognized term in the States. RopeDocs includes both.
What languages is RopeDocs available in?
The app is in English today. French and Spanish are coming soon: the menus, buttons, notifications and all six forms, on iOS, Android and the web portal, including the admin dashboards, with each person choosing their own language. This website is already available in all three.
Can I send a form in a different language from the one I filled it in?
That is coming with the French and Spanish release. You will choose the language for the PDF when you download or email a completed form, while your own app stays in whatever language you work in. Written answers will be translated as well, and the email that carries the form will follow your app language, whatever language the PDF is in.
Can I email reports directly from the app?
Yes. Completed reports can be shared directly from RopeDocs.
Data and privacy
Where are completed reports stored?
Reports are securely stored within your RopeDocs account and can be downloaded as PDFs at any time.
Does RopeDocs provide OSHA or OHS compliance?
RopeDocs helps organize and document safety information, but compliance depends on how your company uses the software and follows applicable regulations.
Are my forms and company data private?
Yes. RopeDocs is designed so that each company's data is isolated from other organizations. Only authorized users within your company can access your forms, employee records, and documents.
